Evaluation of Shoot Day
The day before our shoot we helped to create the set in the studio. We put up the lilac coloured wallpaper and put the wooden boards on the floor so that on the morning of our shoot we would be all ready to start filming as soon as possible.
On the day of our shoot we were pretty well prepared. We had all the costumes, accessories and makeup ready and started getting the actresses ready at 8:20am. We got them into their costumes - Vickey wore a pink velvet slip dress, Lara wore a pink t-shirt and velvet trousers, and Zoe wore a fluffy pink crop top with pink trousers. We also sorted out an outfit change for Vickey - for the bed scenes she changed into pink corduroy trousers and a purple vest.
We also did all their makeup - we kept it quite fresh with pink eyeshadow and pink lip gloss.
I think we managed the talent well as we got them all ready on time and made sure they knew exactly what they were doing. Thanks to the various rehearsals we had done in preparation for the shoot day, they knew what they had to do and were fully prepared.

| Getting Ready ! |
I was really happy with how the set looked and felt we had managed to perfectly bring our concept to life.
The first set was fairly simple - a wooden stool at the back in front of the pink wallpaper and also on the right hand wall, a window with a sheer curtain. We had a fan behind the curtain so that it would be gently billowing so it looked like an actual window. The window also served really well as a Lightbox.
We were ready to start filming by 9:15am.
We started by filming wide, mid and close up shots of Vickey perched on the stool, lip syncing. We did some stationary shots and for others we used the dolly to film tracking shots.
We then filmed the same three types of shots but this time with Vickey sitting on the floor. We filmed some lip syncing shots and some beauty shots.
Our next strand was to have Vickey covered in a velvet and film a low level tracking shot of her body under the sheet. The idea was that it would look sort of like a landscape
We worked out a way to get the perfect shot by changing the lens to a macro lens and filming the shots by placing the camera on a piece of cloth on the ground and then having one person move the cloth and camera across the ground whilst the other held the camera steady and pressed record etc.
We then had a break for lunch, and after lunch we made the second set. This one consisted of a bed and two bedside tables. We covered the bed in blankets and covered up the headboard with the pink velvet material to make it look nicer. We changed the lighting to slightly darker and more of an orange colour to create an 'arc' in the video because this change in lighting shows that this part of the video is set in the evening.
This segment of the music video has Lara and Zoe in it as well as Vickey.
I had printed out pictures of the way we wanted the girls to be positioned for us to reference. This allowed us make sure we got all the shots we wanted to get. We already knew that our ideas looked good on camera thanks to the test shoot we had filmed a few weeks ago and all the rehearsals we had done.
First off, we arranged the girls with Vickey at the front, Lara lying on the bed and with Zoe leaning on the wall next to the window.
Once again, we filmed wide shots, mid shots and close up shots, some lip syncing and some not.
We rearranged the girls to get a few different, interesting shots.
The next thing we did was get the genie out so we could film a birds eye view shot of the girls on the bed.
Once we had these shots done, that was a wrap !
By the time we'd finished filming, it was around 3:30pm.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I was really happy with all the shots we'd got and felt very satisfied seeing how all our hard work had come to life successfully. Although it was quite a long and tiring day, it was well worth it and I feel like we worked really efficiently and creatively as a team.
Now we all look forward to the rest of the process, including editing the music video and creating a website and digipak for our artist.
